Stair runners are often overlooked in home design, but they play a vital role in enhancing both safety and aesthetics. At Lavy’s Flooring in Zanesville, OH, we specialize in creating custom stair runners that elevate the look of your home while providing practical benefits.
A stair runner is a strip of carpet that runs down the center of your staircase, leaving the edges of the stairs exposed. This design choice adds a touch of elegance to your home while protecting your stairs from wear and tear. Stair runners also provide added traction, reducing the risk of slips and falls—a crucial safety feature for families with children, seniors, or pets.
The customization options for stair runners are virtually limitless. You can choose from a wide variety of materials, colors, patterns, and textures to create a look that complements your home’s style. Bold patterns like stripes or chevrons make a striking statement, while neutral tones and subtle textures add a timeless appeal.
Material selection is key to balancing durability and comfort. Wool is a popular choice for its natural resilience and luxurious feel, while synthetic blends offer stain resistance and affordability. Adding a high-quality underlay beneath your runner enhances its comfort and longevity, ensuring it stays in place and looks great for years to come.
Designing a stair runner is also an opportunity to unify your home’s aesthetic. Matching the runner’s color palette to nearby rugs, carpets, or flooring creates a cohesive look that ties your spaces together. You can also opt for contrasting designs to make your staircase a standout feature.
At Lavy’s Flooring, we combine expert craftsmanship with personalized service to create stair runners that are as functional as they are beautiful. Let us help you transform your staircase into a focal point that enhances your home’s safety and style.
