Can carpet warm a room?

While it won’t change the actual temperature, carpeting has insulative properties, so an already warm room will stay warm; the opposite is valid for a cold room. A rug also gives the perception of warmth because it makes the room comfortable and cozy.

With constant innovations like the SmartStrand and Air.O fibers and carpet's kid-and pet-friendly versions, hypoallergenic and eco-friendly, a soft surface floor covering will always be one of the most popular choices.

We have them all at our showroom! So feel free to come into our carpet store to explore, learn more and get a free quote.

What does R-value mean? It's simply a term that refers to insulation. For carpets, the R-value is measured mainly by the thickness, not weight or material.  R-values can range between 0.7 and 2.1.

Be aware that the padding also has an R-value, ranging from 1.05 to 2.15; when put together with the rug, the insulative property rises even more.

Other functional benefits include1.  Style: With various colors, designs, and digital patterning, you can personalize any room with tones and textures that range from plush to patterned cut-piles. Carpets today come with extra stain resistance, ultra-durability, and kid-and-pet friendly, hypoallergenic, and sustainable versions.

2.  Enhances indoor air quality: Carpets trap pollutants and particles that vacuuming won't catch, and they'll remain in the fiber until it's scrubbed out professionally. That makes it a filter because it removes this stuff from the breathing zone instead of letting particles circulate through the air. It's also one of the lowest emitters of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) that exacerbate allergies and asthma.

3.  It eases discomfort and pain from falls: It has good traction or grip, but it's a lot easier to fall on a cushioned surface if someone does fall.
